WHAT DOES "PROGRAMMED & UPDATED" MEAN?

Our highly skilled mechanics perform a programming process known as VIN Programming on all specified control modules, which is crucial for optimal vehicle performance. This process involves replacing the engine control module and flashing it with the latest manufacturer updates. These updates, carefully designed and tested by the manufacturer, greatly enhance the vehicle's performance, fuel efficiency, and overall driving experience. By staying up-to-date with technological advancements and optimizing the control module, we strive to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and driving pleasure.

WHAT DOES "PLUG & PLAY" MEAN?

Plug & Play or Plug ‘N Drive refers to control modules that can be easily installed without the need for additional programming. Typically, units manufactured before 1996 (OBD I) are categorized as plug-n-play. At our company, we offer Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth & Jeep units that are specifically designed and sold as Plug & Play, ensuring seamless integration and hassle-free installation.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), a 17-digit identification number, can be found in multiple locations. Look for it engraved at the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield or inside the driver's door. It can also be located on the title, registration, or insurance card of the vehicle. This unique number serves as a vital identifier for your vehicle, providing essential information about its history and specifications.

HOW CAN I PROVIDE YOU WITH MY VIN?

While entering your billing information during the checkout process, there is a text field titled "VIN" where you can add the number before you pay. Alternatively, you can email us at [emailprotected] and we will send you a confirmation email assuring you we have received the VIN.

WHERE CAN I FIND THE PART (SERVICE) NUMBER FOR MY VEHICLE'S COMPUTER?

There is an I.D. sticker on the computer that will have the "service number". This may be abbreviated like "serv. no." or "service no." etc. This will be followed by the number that is used for identification. In almost all cases, if you provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), we can identify the correct part/service number for your vehicle's module.

WHAT DOES AN ENGINE COMPUTER DO?

The Engine Computer (ECM) will adapt to your own driving patterns and it can also monitor and regulate all the essential functions in a vehicle as conditions change. The engine computer is also responsible for making sure that all the modules are communicating smoothly and seamlessly.

WHAT CAUSES AN ECU TO FAIL?

The engine control module is susceptible to a range of external and internal threats that can hinder its proper functioning. Here is a compilation of the most common ones:

  • Constant engine vibrations
  • An unexpected short circuit
  • Excessive Temperature
  • Natural Threats such as corrosion
  • Irregular voltage

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS OF A BAD CAR COMPUTER?

  • Engine stalling and misfiring
  • Loss of ignition pulse
  • Check engine warning light
  • Loss of acceleration
  • Car failing to start

Returned programmed items are subject to an additional $85 non-refundable programming fee and, if the Buyer purchased keys, the return is subject to an additional $90 non-refundable key fee. Returns received after 30 days from the date of the original purchase include an option for an exchange or in-store credit.
